composite structures and radome solutions, is seeking a Senior
Director of Business Development to join our dynamic leadership
team. This key role will be responsible for overseeing and guiding
a high-performing Business Development (BD) and Sales team, focused
on supporting both commercial and military customers. The Senior
Director will also be instrumental in managing the sales pipeline,
driving organic growth, and executing strategies to increase the
company's market presence. This is a remote position with
significant travel to customer sites (greater than 50%).The ideal
candidate will have proven experience in both commercial and
military sales, including a strong understanding of the Department
of Defense (DoD) acquisition process. As a strategic leader, you
will help CPI achieve its growth objectives by building
relationships, securing contracts, and leading the charge in
executing organic growth strategies within the composite structures
and radome industries.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Business Development and Sales
teams supporting multiple sites.
- Drive a results-oriented culture within the BD and Sales teams,
ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive
revenue and market share growth in both commercial and military
sectors.
- Build and execute strategies for organic growth across existing
and new markets.
- Work closely with senior leadership to define and drive growth
initiatives, including market diversification and expanding service
offerings.
- Evaluate emerging market opportunities and recommend strategies
to capture new business.
- Manage the sales pipeline and ensure accurate forecasting and
tracking of orders, from lead generation to contract award.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project
execution and alignment with customer expectations.
- Regularly update the executive leadership team on progress,
sales forecasts, and key metrics.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both
commercial and military customers, ensuring long-term success and
customer satisfaction.
- Lead efforts in targeting and closing strategic business deals
with DoD and commercial clients.
- Utilize knowledge of the DoD acquisition process to effectively
navigate and secure government contracts.
- Travel to customer locations (greater than 50%) to engage with
clients, understand their needs, and develop tailored
solutions.
- Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and
regulatory changes that impact the composite structures and radome
sectors.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior
leadership based on market intelligence and customer
feedback.Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development,
sales, and leadership roles within the aerospace, defense, or
composite materials industries.
- Strong track record of sales and business development to both
commercial and military customers.
- In-depth knowledge of the DoD acquisition process and
experience navigating government contracting procedures.
- Proven success in building and executing organic growth
strategies to drive long-term success for the company.
- Experience leading and managing business development and sales
teams.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation
skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to travel 50% or more, primarily to customer
sites.
- Must be a US citizen able to obtain and maintain DoD security
clearance.
- A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related
field is preferred. Advanced degrees or certifications are a
